Rich Rocky
Head Professional, PGA
Rich has been a member of the PGA since 1998. While entering the golf business at 19 years old, Rich spent his years as an assistant at Lake View Country Club in North East, PA. He spent five winter seasons as an assistant in Naples, Florida at both Fox Fire and Quail West Country Clubs. He became Director of Golf at Millcreek Golf & Learning Center in 2003 where he was awarded the Section PGA Junior Golf Leader. He has been at Whispering Woods Golf Club since its inception in 2007. Rich and his wife Jennifer reside in Erie, PA and are proud parents of five-year-old twin boys Brady and Carson.
Rob Goring, GCSAA
Superintendent
Rob began his turf grass career in 1988 at Lake View Country Club. He then moved out west, interning at Castle Pines, CO, home of “The International.” Rob then worked at Prospect Bay in Maryland, with Jack Nicklaus on the grow-in at the Golf Club of Purchase, NY, and Pelican Marsh in Napels, FL. In 2004 Rob returned to his hometown and currently is the Superintendent at Whispering Woods Golf Club where he has been instrumental in the construction of the course for the past two years and its grand opening in June of 2007. Rob received his certification at Penn State Turf Grass Management and is licensed for the administration of pesticides.
Bryan Tyler
Director of Operations
Bryan first became part of the golf business in 2001 while working with Rich Rocky for 5 years at the Millcreek Golf & Learning Center. Bryan has been with Whispering Woods since it’s inception in 2007. Just recently, in 2009, he was hired as the Director of Operations of the facility. Bryan is an Erie native who received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from Mercyhurst College, then went on to receive his Master’s of Business Administration from Penn State University.
