As many of you have noticed, the fourth fairway has been nothing short of a disaster so far this year. With the runoff from the hill along with the water seeping up from below, the fairway has been constantly soaked with many large air pockets.

WW decided to bring in a specialized drainage contractor from Kentucky to resolve this issue. The project began on Tuesday, June 21st. It will be completed later this afternoon (Thursday, June 23rd). They have designed a ‘grid’ system that covers the problem areas. The project is taking a bit longer than expected due to heavy rain each night.

Once finished, the fairway will take about a week to completely drain, but it will still be playable. After that, it will be back to normal and should not need anymore attention.

We thank all of you for your patience regarding this issue.

Every Memorial Day WWGC holds the Flag Tournament. This tournament format is done by taking your handicap and adding it to the course par (72). You play until you have reached that amount of strokes (the object is to get as far as you can, even if it means playing more than 18 holes!). As the day goes on, you begin to see the course decorated in red, white and blue flags!

Every Thursday night from 3:30-5:00 we will have a 9 hole skins game.
This is open to anyone!
$10 Gross, $10 Net, or $5 Blind Draw will be available.

Spring Aerification is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 2nd.

Only the greens need to be done in the spring, so we plan to do all of them in one day.

The maintenance crew will be using solid tines and topdressing immediately after which should help hurry along the healing time.
